Bagong Nayon I was established under the Pambansang Bagong Nayon Project, initiated during the leadership of then First Lady and Minister of Human Settlements Imelda Romualdez Marcos, in collaboration with several government agencies, including the National Housing Authority (NHA), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Ministry of Public Highways, Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), Ministry of Public Works, Transportation and Communication, and the National Housing Corporation.
This housing project was allocated to personnel of the Presidential Security Command (PSC) of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos, as well as to other Malacañang household personnel and staff, in recognition of their service to the government.
Historically, the Pambansang Bagong Nayon Project formed part of the national government’s broader housing and urban development program during the 1970s, aimed at providing decent and affordable housing for government employees and security forces. Today, Bagong Nayon I stands as a progressive and well-established community, shaped by decades of shared history, cooperation, and resilience among its residents. From its beginnings as a government housing project, it has grown into a vibrant neighborhood where families continue to uphold the values of unity, service, and community pride.
Through the active leadership of the homeowners’ association and the participation of its residents, Bagong Nayon I continues to pursue programs focused on community development, safety, and social welfare—honoring its historical roots while moving forward toward a sustainable and inclusive future..
